A  reception for the Downtown Newark Partnership was held last week at the Courtyard Newark at the University of Delaware in honor of longtime Chair Marilyn Minster.

Marilyn served as Board Chair for ten years. She will remain on the group’s board.

Minster led the DNP  as Main Street underwent a turnaround that led to the area being honored as  a Great American Downtown Award in 2011, the highest honor a downtown can receive.

Seven local restaurants, Deer Park, Taverna, Courtyard Newark at the University of Delaware, Green Turtle, Caffe Gelato, Bings Bakery and Grotto Pizza all donated food to make the event.Interim DNP Chair Joe

Interim DNP Chair Joe Charma, Mayor Polly Sierer, former Mayor Vance Funk, and Newark Planning Director Maureen Roser prised Minster for her work.
