The honorees at the 27th annual Business Hall of Fame ceremony are  DuPont CEO Ellen Kullman; real estate developer Paul McConnell of the McConnell Companies; Allen Fasnacht, patriarch/co-founder of family-owned Funland in Rehoboth Beach; and former Delaware Community Foundation president Fred Sears.

These individuals were selected on the basis of their contributions over the course of their careers to workforce development and economic development in the region.  The 2016 inductees join the illustrious ranks of 57 laureates inducted into the Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame since its inception.

Redesigned in 2015 in partnership with M&T Bank, the Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame ceremonies follow a more contemporary format and focus on the local Junior Achievement students who look up to the Hall of Fame laureates.

“Hall of Fame inductees epitomize the successful business role models that Junior Achievement puts in front of students every day,” says Junior Achievement of Delaware president Rob Eppes.

Prior to their induction, each living laureate participates in structured interactions with local Junior Achievement students on topics such as Business Ethics, Work Readiness, Entrepreneurship, and Economics.

M&T Bank Market Leader Nick Lambrow has served for the past two years as Hall of Fame Chair.  Lambrow’s leadership during the Hall of Fame redesign and relaunch has provided continuity to the institution which was first created by Junior Achievement in partnership with Hagley Museum & Library in 1990.

Kullman and McConnell are both on the list of past Chairs of the Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame, which includes business leaders such as Edgar S. Woolard, Jr.; Charles M. Cawley, Ernest J. Dianastasis and Mark A. Turner.

U.S. Small Business Administration Business of the Year Award recipients Mac Nagaswami and Greg Star of Carvertise will serve as co-emcees at the event, which will feature Junior Achievement student success stories.

An early, optional sit-down dinner has been added at 4:30pm, followed by a 5:30pm reception and 6:30pm Induction Ceremony.  Reception Tickets are $150 and Early Dinner/Reception Tickets are $200 each.  A portion of the ticket price is tax-deductible.
