Bradan’s World Media, an education gaming startup with an emphasis on tabletop gaming, has released its first ever-game called Heroes of History Collectible Card Game, where players build armies made up of real-life legends of history and pit them against one another.
“Both of my parents are public school teachers who struggle to figure out how to get students to better learn the material,” says Samuel Friedman, founder and owner of the company. “Add in the fact that parents want to figure out how to get kids to do something off-screen and that’s how I came up with the idea to create a card game based on history, both the popular parts and less so. Throw in some humor and pop culture references and you have Heroes of History. The game is designed for players ages 8-14, though we’ve found older teens and even some parents enjoy playing this game as well.”

Bradan’s World is releasing “Epic Combo Packs” with two decks so two players can play at the same time, though the game is designed for up to four people to play. One deck features characters from the American Revolution era – play Caesar Rodney with Horatio Gates and see if they’re strong enough to overcome an alliance of Robert E. Lee, Geronimo and Sitting Bull. The game features weapon cards, supply items for your army, and the chance to choose real-life battlefields where your army will wage war.

In addition to the gaming element, each card features historical information about a person, place, or item that was used. Not all of the items are directly related to war; players will learn a little about Common Sense, Thomas Paine’s pamphlet published in 1776, or that Uncle Tom’s Cabin was second only to the Bible in book sales in the 19th century.

The game  will be  available for sale now on the company website, bradansworld.com, and also on eBay and Amazon.
