More details have been released on Constitution Yards, the pop-up seasonal beer garden that will open in mid-June, pending completion of construction and permitting.  .

The 20,000-square-foot  beer garden is a project of the Delaware Riverfront Development Corp. and Imian Partners. Imian operates the Independence Beer Garden in Center City Philadelphia.

“Helping to round out what has already become the area’s go-to place for summer time fun, Constitution Yards will feature classic backyard barbecue fare, an ever-changing rotation of curated craft beers, frozen cocktails, and plenty of space for backyard games like corn hole toss, bocce, life-size  Jenga (block stacking game)  and a full sized wiffleball field,” a release stated.

The project is designed by landscape architect, David Fierabend, of Groundswell Design Group.

“Fierabend made a concerted effort to make use of reclaimed materials in the design and build out of the venue, including recycled shipping containers as an acknowledgement of the thriving shipyard business that once drove the riverfront economy in Wilmington,” the release stated.

The venue will be family friendly and includes  a stroller parking area and biscuits and water bowls for dog owners.

The deck will feature Adirondack chairs, fire pits, rolling bocce balls, and a  Wiffleball area.

Tim Lux, a  veteran of the Four Seasons and Garces Group, Philadelphia will manage the site with a name that reflects   Delaware being the first to ratify the U.S. Constitution.

A daily roster on ten draft lines will be available,  along with offerings from  Dogfish Head and other local brewers such as  Yards, Victory, and Fordham & Dominion, the release noted.

The draft system will also feature four wines on tap.

Constitution yards will also feature what is described as  “a carefully curated collection of rotating cocktails reinvented as frozen summertime classics like- Moscow Mules, Mint Juleps, Daiquiris and Margaritas.”

The kitchen at Constitution Yards will feature backyard offerings   including ribs, rotisserie chicken, burgers, pulled pork and sausage along with a selection of summer snacks including cornbread and soft pretzels from the Chesapeake Pretzel Company.

Constitution Yards will be offering ice cream truck favorites, like Chipwiches, Rocket Pops, and Choco Tacos for dessert.

Constitution Yards will be open Monday-Thursday from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 11pm and Sunday from noon to  9 p.m.  Games are provided free of charge.
