SOLitude Lake Management, a  lake and pond management, fisheries management company, participated in eleven recent environmental cleanup events in honor of Earth Day. SOLitude employees, family members and friends volunteered a total of 120 hours of their time to help collect over 6,000 pounds of trash and debris in our local communities throughout the country.

Mid-Atlantic team members in Delaware volunteered with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control: Division of Fish and Wildlife for a tree planting event in southern New Castle County. The event involved the planting of over 200 saplings on a clearing marked for reforestation for riparian buffer development in Augustine Wildlife Area.

Also,  employees and family members volunteered with the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance in Downingtown, PA to clean up the Brandywine River. The team paddled in canoes along four miles of river to remove over 500 pounds of trash that included plastic and glass bottles, an assortment of recreational balls, a basketball rim, a rubber ducky and a baby pool. And at Goddard Park in London Grove Township, PA  staff and family planted 300 Arrow Arum plugs around a pond in the park. Arrow Arum is a beneficial plant that helps to create a strong aquatic buffer zone around lakes and ponds.
