Zurn named master in Chancery Court

The Court of Chancery  appointed  Morgan Zurn as a Master in Chancery.

Masters adjudicate cases assigned to them by the Court and play an important administrative role in ensuring that the court handles its caseload in a timely manner, particularly in the sensitive areas of trusts and estates and guardianships.

Zurn comes to the Court of Chancery from her position as a Deputy Attorney General at the Delaware Department of Justice, where she has worked since 2009.

During her tenure with the Attorney General’s Office, Ms. Zurn worked in the Consumer Protection Unit and most recently with the Appeals Unit.

Zurn left the Attorney General’s Office temporarily to serve as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard G. Andrews of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. . Zurn also previously worked in the Intellectual Property division of Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP.

Zurn graduated from the University of Pennsylvania cum laude with dual degrees in bioethics and law, and was an Executive Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review from 2005-2006. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.

Chancellor Andre  Bouchard commented on the selection of  Zurn: “The court was pleased to receive applications from many highly qualified individuals willing to make a commitment to serve the citizens of Delaware. Although the choice was difficult, Morgan Zurn stood out as having the legal ability, temperament, and work ethic to undertake the responsibilities of this important position. All the members of the  court look forward to the opportunity to work with her, and are confident that she will distinguish herself as a Master of the Court in the years to come.”
