Taking export survey earns chance for lunch with governor

Global delawareBusiness owners  participating in a survey on  exporting will get a chance to have lunch with Gov. Jack Markell.

Over the last year, Global Delaware revamped the State’s export  program  and secured a Federal STEP grant to provide financial support for companies planning to enter the market.

In looking for additional support Global Delaware is hopes to tap federal funding to support local export efforts and  needs input from the business community.

As an incentive, participants will have a chance for lunch with the governor.

“We have resources and financial assistance waiting for companies that want to take their business abroad,”  said Global Delaware Director Andrea Tinianow. “Our local businesses can help by telling us which countries hold the most export potential for their products and services. We’ll use that information to seek additional funding and grow our calendar of events and activities.”

Global Delaware is part of Delaware’s Department of State. While the  from the Delaware Development Office took place many years ago, the affiliation is not widely known in much of the business community.
