Bayard names Alberto, Swasey as directors

Alberto focuses his practice on corporate bankruptcy and restructuring. He represents debtors, creditors’ committees, equity committees, and other parties-in-interest in reorganization and liquidation proceedings in an array of industries, including retail, manufacturing, energy, and finance.

He is a certified mediator for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and is listed on the Register of Mediators and Arbitrators maintained by the Court.  In addition to his restructuring practice, Alberto  counsels clients involved in litigation arising under and transactions governed by the General Corporation Law of the State of Delaware.

Alberto  graduated cum laude from Widener University Delaware Law School. While in law school, Justin interned for  Henry duPont Ridgely, Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court. He also served as the Managing Editor of the Widener Law Review and was a member of the Moe Levine Mock Trial Honor Society. Prior to law school, Justin graduated with a B.S. in Business and Economics from Springfield College.

Swasey concentrates her practice in the area of family law, including divorce, property division, custody, child support, adoption, guardianship, and protection from abuse matters.

She provides litigation support to Bayard’s bankruptcy, corporate, and commercial law practices.

Swasey also represents landlords in commercial and residential landlord-tenant matters in Justice of the Peace courts throughout the state of Delaware.

Kara joined Bayard in 2007 after earning her J.D. and M.B.A. from Villanova University and her B.S. from the University of Delaware. She is admitted to practice law in Delaware and Pennsylvania.

Bayard has practices in commercial bankruptcy, and corporate and commercial litigation, intellectual property, securitization, structured finance, and insurance insolvencies. Other established practices include counseling clients in the formation of corporations and other alternative entities, insurance, tax, estate planning and estate administration, and domestic disputes.
