Man burned in flash fire at refinery

One man was injured Sunday night in a flash fire at the Delaware City Refining Co. on Sunday night.

New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched to the refinery on  4500 block of Wrangle Hill Road regarding an injured worker.

They found the victim, a  62-year-old male who had facial burns from a flash fire in an industrial area at the refinery.

He was treated for first and second-degree burns to his face and neck.

He was transported to Christiana Hospital in stable condition and later transferred to Chester-Crozier Burn Center near Chester, PA.
