AstraZeneca Employees are moving   into the JPMorgan Chase campus near Wilmington, the former site of AstraZeneca operations.

Spokesman Paul Harwick said  the company is now beginning the move personnel to the site. He said the site is “not fully operational,” but getting close.

The campus is the former AstraZeneca South Campus, which was sold to JPMorgan Chase for a reported $44 million.

AstraZeneca continues to have headquarters jobs at its north campus after it cut an estimated 1,200 jobs and razed its research labs at the same complex.

The state had asked AZ to retain the labs in the event that another pharmaceutical company could use the facilities. AstraZeneca still employs 2,500 in the state.

Wilmington is the headquarters for the Chase credit card operation.

The company has been a bright spot in the Delaware employment picture in recent years, as it hires workers in a variety of financial services areas.

The new campus  has a parking structure and up to date amenities. Chase has also poured millions of dollars into the buildings.

The site has room for additional buildings.
