Last winter, the carrier offered service from New Castle to Tampa and Orlando. The new service gets under way in late October.

We are excited to offer even more low fare service in popular leisure markets around the country,” said Daniel Shurz, chief commercial officer of  Frontier Airlines. “These markets have responded positively to our Low Fares Done Right philosophy allowing us to add new destinations and make travel to and from these cities more affordable than ever.”

Frontier will add new service between Philadelphia and vacation destinations, Fort Myers and Montego Bay.

Nonstop service to Fort Meyers will be offered every day except Tuesday with one flight. Frontier briefly offered service to Fort Meyers, a destination that was popular with residents, but according to the carrier did not fill planes

A nonstop flight  to Montego Bay Jamaica will be offered Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Fares run more than $400 round-trip, minus baggage fees.  Fares to Fort Myers were as low as $49 one-day in a 24-hour sale. Baggage fees can run $60 or more per person.

Frontier has converted to an ultra-low fare model that charges for everything except a personal carry on item. The carrier, which once struggled for survival is reporting a profit.

The airline has retained much of its service to Trenton-Mercer County in targeting Delaware Valley travelers. That airport is a longer drive to Philadelphia than the market served from New Castle.
