NewUDBuses-2009UD Transportation Services will be issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to explore use of a professional transportation services company to provide UD shuttle bus operations.

Due to the  changing transportation needs of the campus community brought about by the reduction in available parking, opening of new buildings and the creation of the STAR Campus, the university is considering engaging an experienced, national transportation provider to operate an efficient shuttle system, a UD release stated.

“Our goal is to identify a partner that can meet current needs, while also using their experience and expertise to take our service to the next level –  by designing and implementing route alterations, providing service enhancements and conducting transportation master planning,” said Richard Rind, director of Auxiliary Services at UD. This RFP process is scheduled to begin in late March and should be completed in early May.
