Not For Profit: DelleDonne to help kick off Easter Seals Challenge

Delle DonneWNBA and University of Delaware star Elena Delle Donne, will be Easter Seals special guest at the Kick-Off of the 2015 CAI/Easter Seals Volleyball Challenge on Thursday, January 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m .at Timothy’s in Newark.

“We are thrilled to have Elena Delle Donne on hand to kick off this year’s volleyball event,” Julie Master, Volleyball Challenge chair and Easter Seals  board member, said. “It will be an exciting night with great food, inspirational stories from our volleyball ambassador, Ryan, and his family and tips for teams to help us reach our $375,000 goal for 2015.”

Anyone interested in learning more about playing or volunteering in the Volleyball Challenge, which raises   funds to help people with disabilities, is invited to come to the Kick-Off event at Timothy’s, at 100 Creek View Road in Newark. The CAI/Easter Seals Volleyball Challenge will be held on March 20-22, 2015 at the Delaware Orthopaedic Sportsplex.

Teams of 6 to 10 people play other teams in 90 minute time slots to raise money for Easter Seals. Competitive play is also available. For more information, contact Laura Becker at Easter Seals at 302-324-4444 x2065 or email lbecker@esdel.org.

For the tenth year, CAI, an  information technology consulting organization, is title sponsor for this event, which last year raised over $375,000 for Easter Seals. Founding Sponsor, Canada Dry, is also on board.

Bayhealth contribution from Mid-Del

Bayhealth’s Cancer Institute recently joined 31 other Delaware organizations in being awarded a financial grant by the Mid-Del Charitable Foundation.  The funds received by the Cancer Institute will help Bayhealth expand cancer survivorship programs in the  community.

The Mid-Del Charitable Foundation, developed to consolidate the charitable undertakings of The Delaware State Fair, Inc. and Harrington Raceway, Inc., supports Delaware-based organizations and charitable, educational, and scientific endeavors.
