In the first poll to come out for the state, U.S. Sen. Chris Coons has a sizable lead over Republican Kevin Wade.
A Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of likely votes found Coons leading Wade by 15 points with a 49 to 34 cushion Four percent prefer some other candidate in the race, while 12% are undecided.
The survey of 750 voters in Delaware was conducted on September 10-12, 2014 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is four percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
