From David R. Cassling,

Newark Apacked room listened and participated Wednesday night at the Kirkwood Highway Library with some people standing and some sitting on the floor.

Representatives from government and citizen groups were there to discuss the “invisibility cloak” issued along with incorporation papers to owners who would then be able to disguise criminal activities including drug or weapons trafficking, money laundering, tax evasion and a long list of other abuses.

Unfortunately, no members of the press were there to report on this issue to the broader public. More invisibility. This issue is critical to Delaware since it is a center for incorporation and needs to stand up for transparency in business dealings.

Our state should lead the way to restore a measure of trust in our economic system which is eroding due to abuses of corporate law. A bill currently being proposed in Congress would help correct this problem.

Please ask Senators Coons and Carper and Representative Carney to vote in favor of the Incorporation Transparency and Law Enforcement Assistance Act. In the Senate: S.1465, in the House: H.R. 3331. As long as invisibility is allowed, the rights that come with incorporation will be abused and reflect poorly on all business.
