We are learning that Frontier Airlines is not planning as much service to cold weather spots from the Delaware Valley this winter.

The airline will suspend flights from Trenton  to Milwaukee, Minneapolis, St. Louis and Cleveland between January and April, a news release stated. Earlier, Frontier confirmed it will drop service  to all cities outside Florida from New Castle  Airport during the winter months. Also dropped was service to Fort Meyers, Fla.

Remaining destinations are Orlando and Tampa, which will see increased service.

At the same time, Trenton-Mercer Airport could soon offer direct international service to the Bahamas, Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes announced. Service will also  be offered to Palm Beach, Fla. from the New Jersey airport.

The announcement comes just a day after Frontier Airlines, the only airline providing scheduled service out of Trenton-Mercer Airport, announced it will add service to West Palm Beach, Fla.

“This is more exciting news for the Mercer County region in that for the first time in the history of Trenton-Mercer Airport, a commercial carrier could offer international service with direct flights to an island resort,” Hughes said.

Frontier currently offers nonstop flights from Trenton-Mercer Airport to Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago-Midway, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Minneapolis, Nashville, Orlando, Raleigh-Durham, St. Augustine, St. Louis and Tampa.
