Capriotti’s plans to expand its franchise network of sandwich shops to Georgia, Franchinsing.com reported.
The Las Vegas-based company that got its start on Union Street in Wilmington, signed a multi-unit agreement with Michael Li, a Duluth native, who will open the first of three Georgia locations in the Atlanta suburb this September.
The number of Capriotti’s has grown to 104 with locations coast to coast, including the Boston suburbs and Beverly Hills, Calif. The stores continue the tradition of roasting turkeys in-house every night for subs that include the well-known Bobbie, a sub with turkey, cranberries and stuffing.
Capriotti’s has also been expanding into large markets such as Texas, and Washington, D.C.-northern Virginia, with multi-unit franchise deals.
Speaking of the Washington, D.C. area, the Bobbie won the World Cup of sandwiches in a light-hearted competition from the Washington Post. The amped up turkey sub edged out a German entry from its circulation area.
