Plane crashes in Delaware River; occupants rescued by State Police copter

A Delaware State Police helicopter pulled two men from the Delaware River after their small plane crashed Saturday morning. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The rescue took place between Fort Delaware State Park and Fort Mott State Park. 
 
At 0:46 a.m. the New Castle Airport  Air Traffic Control Tower reported losing contact with a small single engine aircraft.
 
The aircraft was located in the Delaware River  with the occupants seen near the aircraft in the water.
 
The investigation is now under the jurisdiction of the Pennsville, N.J. Police Department and the National Transportation Safety Board.
