Well known local baker Dana Herbert will open Desserts by Dana in a location just outside Newark.
The store will have a grand opening in a shopping center at 1212 Capitol Trail, east of Newark on July 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Events will include a cupcake battle, cupcake giveaway and events for the family.
The business is owned by Dana Herbert, who won the title of Next Great Baker in a reality TV show. He has also won Best of Delaware and many other awards.
Prior to the opening of the new store, customers can pick up their cakes at 62 Southgate Boulevard, Suite N, New Castle. The wedding and specialty cake maker has been located in the New Castle area.
He is a graduate of the University of Delaware, majoring in hotel and restaurant management.
Desserts by Dana had been located in the New Castle area. A temporary cake pick up site has been established at the Delaware Kitchen Share, 62 Southgate Blvd, Ste N, New Castle, DE 19720
