Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting late Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of the Gold Club Restaurant and Gentleman’s Club located on South Market Street, south of Wilmington.
An investigation has determined that the incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. as a 29 year old male patron was in the parking lot of the club. The victim was approached by a vehicle described as a late 1990s green Pontiac Grand Am, occupied by four black male suspects. 1
One man produced a handgun and fired at least one round from inside of the vehicle, striking the victim in a lower part of his body. After the shooting the suspect vehicle fled northbound on South Market Street toward Wilmington.No further descriptions are available.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives continue their investigation by conducting interviews, reviewing video surveillance, and collecting physical evidence at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident, including the number of rounds fired and possible motive for the shooting.
