Sign of the season: Lighthouse Restaurant opens in Dewey

Lighthouse coveThe   Lighthouse Restaurant at the Lighthouse Cove Resort complex in Dewey Beach reopened for the 2014 season on Friday. Que Pasa Mexican Restaurant will open later this month.  In the early season, The Lighthouse will be open, Friday through Sunday.

The operator of the  new Hyatt Place in Lighthouse Cove, Meyer Jabara Hotels is now operating the the Lighthouse and Que Pasa restaurants at the former Ruddertowne complex.

“We are thrilled to expand Meyer Jabara’s role at Lighthouse Cove to our award-winning Lighthouse & Que Pasa Restaurants, and we look forward to a stellar summer season serving our wonderful guests,” said E. Thomas Harvey, III, president, Dewey Beach Enterprises, which owns the Lighthouse Cove Resort.

Meyer Jabara Hotels, which owns and operates premier hotels in 13 states, has operated the new Hyatt Place Hotel since its  opening in September 2013.

The Lighthouse Cove resort encompasses the Hyatt Place Hotel; penthouse and bayside residential condominiums; retail stores and restaurants; a future conference center; and other public amenities.

The resort redevelopment project has created hundreds of construction and permanent jobs; and is helping Dewey Beach transition to a family-friendly 21st Century year-round resort, according to a release.
