Courtyard near mall offers museum-garden special

The Courtyard Wilmington Newark/Christiana Mall is offering a Museum Package that includes accommodations from $129 per night, breakfast for at The Bistro and two adult one-day tickets to either Longwood Gardens, Winterthur or Hagley museums.

 Longwood Gardens, founded by Pierre S. du Pont, has fountains and gardens. Vacationers can travel through the gardens and peruse the intricacies and special touches made throughout the property. Winterthur, founded by collector and horticulturist Henry Francis du Pont has 90,000 objects from the 1640 to 1860 time period. It is also a destination for research into the study of American art and culture.

 Hagley is the site of the gunpowder works founded by E.I. du Pont in 1802. The Courtyard is also near Christiana Mall, anchored by Macy’s, Target, Penneys and Nordstrom and housing Apple, Michael Kors, Pottery Barn and other speciality stores. Other attractions include Delaware Park and its casino and track.

 The Museum Package is valid Thursday through Sunday through Sept. 6, 2014.
