Easter Seals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently welcomed Manny J. Arencibia as the new Vice President of Development.

Arencibia brings with him over twenty-four years of experience in fundraising and development.

Arencibia joins Easter Seals after a nine-year tenure with Delaware Hospice as the Vice President of Development, in which his team raised over $20 million for the organization’s programs, services and capital projects.

Earlier in his career, Arencibia worked at Easter Seals of Eastern Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia region.

“I am thrilled to once again be part of the Easter Seals family,” Arencibia said. “The services and programs provided by our organization have such an impact on the lives of people in our community.  I am honored to play a small role helping to promote such a vital mission.”

Arencibia has served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Brandywine Chapter since 2006 in various roles such as Secretary, Philanthropy Day Chairman, Chair of Trusteeship, President-Elect and recently wrapped up a two year tenure as President in December 2012. In 2011,

He was honored as Delaware’s Fundraising Executive of the Year by the AFP Brandywine Chapter.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Seton Hall University and his Master’s Degree in Campaign Management from the Graduate School of Political Management (CUNY).

Two Richards, Layton & Finger attorneys named Leading Lawyers

Two Richards, Layton & Finger attorneys, Donald A. Bussard and Gregory P. Williams, are named among the 2013-2014 Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America. This is the sixth time Bussard and Williams have earned a spot on Lawdragon’s list of the 500 best lawyers and judges in the country.

Richards, Layton & Finger is based in Wilmington.

Bussard, a senior member of Richards Layton’s corporate advisory group, advises corporations and boards of directors in connection with mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, stockholder issues and corporate governance. Williams, a past president of Richards Layton and chair of the firm’s corporate department, advises corporations, directors, officers and board committees, and represents them in courts in Delaware and across the country.

Lawdragon identifies the nation’s top 500 attorneys through an exhaustive selection process comprised of written submissions, online votes and research.

The lawyers chosen for the Lawdragon 500 list are an elite group noted for their exceptional skills and noteworthy accomplishments, according to a release.

Jones honored by Delaware Tech

Delaware Technical Community College honored Tyrone Jones during its annual Black History Month celebration this week.

Jones is the Director of Delaware External Affairs at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.

He has been a leader  in both the public, private and non-profit sectors  during  a 20-plus year career dedicated to building relationships and working with key external corporate, community and nonprofit stakeholders on issues that focus on healthcare policy and program development, adolescent health and development, and strategic philanthropy and advocacy.

Jones started “Project Stay Free,” a community-based intervention program aimed at helping youth who come in contact with the juvenile justice system, and grew the program by increasing the operating budget from less than $55,000 to more than $1 million.

Since 1998, Delaware Technical Community College’s Stanton/Wilmington Campus has been celebrating Black History Month by honoring a member of the community for his/her outstanding personal and professional achievements.
