Former Tower Hill headmaster indicted on child image charges

Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden’s office announced that it has secured a 25-count indictment charging Christopher Wheeler with Dealing in Child Pornography.

The indictment  from the New Castle County Grand Jury, follows Wheeler’s November 1 arrest on the same charges after detectives from the Delaware Child Predator Task Force recovered multiple images of child pornography on computers seized by investigators during an October 22 search of Wheeler’s Wilmington home and office.

 Wheeler remains in jail pending trial in lieu of $1.5 million cash bail. Efforts to reduce that bail were unsuccessful.

Wheeler is the former headmaster of Tower Hill School. He stepped down following the search of his office by Wilmington Police and the Attorney General’s Office. He grew up in the region and came to the prestigious  private school  in Wilmington after holding a similar post in Illinois. He is an an amateur pilot and composer.
