Former Chief Justice Veasey moving to Delaware law firm: Metropolitan Corporate Counsel

Norman Veasey, who served as chief justice of the Delaware Supreme Court between 1992 and 2004 will retire as   a senior partner of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, the publication Metropolitan Corporate Counsel reported.

As of January 1, 2014, he serve  as arbitrator, mediator, special master, and consultant. He will be special counsel for  the Wilmington firm Gordon, Fournaris & Mammarella, P.A.

Veasey is a nationally recognized jurist during his time as chief justice and helped keep the state in the forefront of  corporate law and other areas.  He has remained active in corporate law circles with offices in New York City and Wilmington.

Veasey’s successor Myron Steele is stepping down from the top court post in the state to serve as partner at the  Wilmington law firm of Potter, Anderson  & Corroon.
