Police seek information after theft of truck and 6 golf carts

Newark Police are investigating the theft of a box truck and six golf carts on September 17.

At about 2:40 a.m.,  a 26-foot box truck,  valued at approximately $15,000, taken  from a business in the 1100 block of Interchange Boulevard. Surveillance video shows an unknown white passenger van with tinted windows in the area.

Approximately ten minutes later,  the six golf carts were taken from a business on the  100 block of Sandy Drive. Suspects cut a chain link fence to gain entry to a secure storage yard where  the golf carts,  valued at over $48,000, were taken.Surveillance video shows the stolen box truck being used to transport the golf carts from the business.

The next day, the box truck was recovered in a parking lot in the 700 block of Pulaski Highway, minus the golf carts. Investigators believe the stolen golf carts may be stored, with suspects look to sell the items locally.
