A Capriotti’s franchisee is  launching  the expansion of the company into the Washington, D.C. area.

A new sandwich shop will be opening in a few weeks in the district, with  Rosslyn, Va. to follow  in early 2014.

Capriotti’s got its start  on Union Street in  Wilmington’s Little Italy neighborhood  and later expanded to Las Vegas, now its headquarters.  The company now operates nationwide, with shops in 13 states.  The shop is known for sandwiches like the Bobbie, a turkey sub with cranberry and stuffing.
