To help those in need this year, AstraZeneca employees donated personal funds and resources to fill 75 backpacks with school supplies for students at Las Américas ASPIRA Academy, a bilingual charter school in Wilmington, Del. The backpacks will provide incoming kindergarten students with a selection of supplies to start the year off right, including markers, glue sticks, scissors and colored pencils. AstraZeneca employees also donated additional items from the school’s “Wish List,” which included snacks and specialty arts and crafts materials.
In addition, AstraZeneca employees joined together to collect hundreds of supplies for Children and Families First’s Supply Drive, including backpacks, over 115 notebooks, 50 packs of pencils and 25 boxes of crayons. Children and Families First distributed these supplies to children attending elementary schools in Wilmington’s East Side.
