Gilpin Mortgage now part of Artisans’ Bank

Gilpin Mortgage, an independent mortgage company operating in New Castle County for more than 70 years, has joined Artisans’ Bank. Three Gilpin employees will join the bank.

Artisans’   CEO Stephen C. Nelson said, “We are very pleased that three experienced real estate associates have joined the bank. They are a complement to our existing experienced team of residential real estate professionals and will add to our excellent reputation in the local market that we serve”.

Joining the Bank, from Gilpin Mortgage, are Thomas D. Keehan as Vice President, Vicki L. Toy as Assistant Vice President and Darlene J. Henry as Administrative Assistant. Keehan, Toy and Henry offices will be located at Artisans’ Bank’s headquarters at Red Clay Center at Little Falls, 2961 Centerville Rd, Wilmington.

Keehan will be responsible for originating new residential mortgage loans. He has more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry. At Gilpin, Keehan served as Senior Mortgage Loan Officer, overseeing pricing, mortgage rates and the origination of mortgage loans for Fannie/Freddie HARP, Conventional, FHA/VA and DSHA. Prior to working at Gilpin Mortgage he was a Senior Mortgage Loan Officer for Guaranty Bank/Shelter Mortgage Company in Wilmington, where he originated mortgage loans for Patterson Schwartz Real Estate.

Toy will be responsible for underwriting mortgage loans for sale to various secondary market sources. Prior to joining the bank,  Toy was a Mortgage Consultant for Gilpin Mortgage Company for more than 20 years. She has experience in the mortgage lending process as well as various aspects of consumer compliance regulatory requirements. Toy is a certified underwriter for secondary mortgage market agencies and is a licensed originator in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.

Henry will be responsible for the closing and post closing of residential mortgages. She has experience in processing mortgage loans including documentation for attorneys and title companies as well as knowledge of conventional, FHA, and VA loan closing packages.

Prior to joining the bank, Henry spent 10 years with Gilpin Mortgage Company, Gilpin Financial Services, Inc. in Wilmington as a Mortgage Closer & Customer Service Representative. Earlier, she served as Customer Service Representative for Household Automotive Finance Corp. and was an Installment Purchasing Associate for Transamerica Bank, New Castle.

Artisans’ Bank, with assets of $479 million, was founded in 186. Artisans’ is a full service community bank with12 branch office locations statewide. The bank offers a wide range of services in New Castle, Kent, Sussex Counties in Delaware and southeastern Pennsylvania.
