The owner of Evraz Claymont Steel failed to meet a deadline to sell a steel mill in South Africa.
A Business Insider story said the deadline Evraz had earlier announced for closing the deal with a South African company called Nemascore expired on June 30.
On July 2, Tatiana Drachuk, the Evraz spokesman, added: “The market will be informed if any decision is taken.
Evraz is controlled by Roman Abromovich, a Russian billionaire and others.
Stock in Evraz is down 61 percent during the past year. Shares are traded on the London Exchange. The News Journal reported in the spring that Evraz Claymont is laying off around 60 workers due to a slowdown in demand.
