The property, a vacant former shopping center located on Baltimore Avenue in Upper Darby Township, will function as a new retail store, job resource center and donation collection site for the non-profit organization. Goodwill is based near Wilmington.

Goodwill CEO Colleen Morrone said she is pleased with the organization’s new market space acquisition. “Goodwill is in the midst of an expansion into Delaware County,” said Morrone “This new facility in Upper Darby will be our largest retail store and will also include a job resource center to help the community with job search skills and placement opportunities. It will also bring about 50 jobs to the local area.”

Fred Hesser, Account Executive with Jackson Cross Partners, represented Goodwill Industries of Delaware and Delaware County in this transaction. “This deal is not only a win for Goodwill; it is also a win for the community. The organization will benefit from 32,500 SF of workable space and the community will see an abandoned shopping center transform into a modern, staffed facility.” The grand opening of the new Goodwill location is slated for July 2013.
