Demchak takes reins at PNC

demThe PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. announced that William S. Demchak has assumed the position of president and chief executive officer.  Former Chief Executive Officer James E. Rohr took the new position of executive chairman. The changes became effective today at PNC’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders.

Rohr announced in February that he will retire in 2014. He will serve in the new position for one year to ensure a smooth transition. “Bill is well prepared to lead PNC and to execute the winning strategy he helped develop over the past decade,” Rohr said. “PNC’s customers, shareholders, employees and community will benefit from his vision and commitment to serving their needs.”

Demchak joined PNC in 2002 as chief financial officer. In 2005, he became head of Corporate & Institutional Banking. He was promoted to senior vice chairman in 2009 and named head of all PNC businesses in 2010. He was elected PNC president in April 2012, and joined PNC’s Board of Directors in February 2013.  Prior to joining PNC, Demchak served as head of Structured Finance and Credit Portfolio for JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Demchak is a director of BlackRock, Inc. He earned his undergraduate degree at Allegheny College and an MBA at the University of Michigan

Seto named Woman of Distinction

MichikoSetoThe Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay selected Michiko Seto as this year’s Sussex County Woman of Distinction. A luncheon honoring Michiko will be held on May 9 at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Michiko Seto’s first Blooming Boutique location opened in August of 2006, in a 375 square foot space located at 107 W. Market Street in downtown Lewes.

Seto opened the second Blooming Boutique in Rehoboth Beach in April 2007. Soon the Lewes store expanded to include another small place on Second Street. This third Blooming Boutique opened April 2008. The store allowed for shoe lines and costume jewelry to be added. Blooming Boutique in Bethany Beach opened May 2009.

The company now has seven stores and has added 401k & profit sharing plans for employees.

Seemans joins Ruggerio firm

Rhett Ruggerio Government Relations, LLC, announced the addition of Jordan Seemans as the newest member of its team. Seemans joins the firm as an associate after having held positions in various

areas of government and campaigns throughout the east coast and Delaware.

Jordan brings a wealth of legislative and political experience to our firm,” said Rhett Ruggerio. “Having worked in Legislative Hall, most recently serving former-Speaker of the House Robert F. Gilligan, he has that forward-thinking and strategic approach to solutions that adds tremendous value to our firm.”

Prior to joining, Seemans served in a number of capacities at the Delaware House of Representatives. In addition to acting as Field Director for the successful House Democratic Caucus Campaigns in 2010 and 2012, he also worked for a number of political campaigns throughout the east coast, including Obama for America in Florida in 2008 and Creigh Deeds for Governor in Virginia in 2009, where he served as Regional Political Director.

In 2012, the Council of State Governments selected Seemans as a Robert J. Thompson Leadership Academy Fellow to represent the State of Delaware at a leadership summit held at the University of Pennsylvania.

A life long Delawarean, Seemans graduated from the University of Delaware in 2008 with a degree in Political Science and resides in Wilmington.

InterDigital executive

InterDigital, Inc.., north Wilmington, a wireless research and development company, announced that Donald P. Dinella has joined the company as Chief Licensing Officer. Dinella, who also will serve as Chief Licensing Counsel, has most recently served as Chief IP Counsel & VP, IP Global Operations for Alcatel Lucent. Dinella has also held significant intellectual property positions at Lucent Technologies, Inc. and AT&T. Dinella will be responsible for the day to day licensing activities of the company’s patent holding subsidiaries.
