More layoffs were announced at Delaware Hospice as the effects of the federal sequestrations cuts take hold.

“All hospices today must adjust to yet another decrease in Medicare reimbursement that was effective April 1 due to the implementation of sequestration cuts,” said Delaware Hospice CEO Susan Lloyd in statement. “These reimbursement cuts, coupled with two others in recent years and significantly more restrictive interpretations of the regulations governing hospice have created a need for Delaware Hospice to reexamine its operations.”

  1. At the end of September, 2014, Delaware Hospice quietly laid off TEN MORE staff. This was AFTER the organization’s president and CEO Susan Lloyd had told staff at a May 2014 staff meeting that she foresaw no further layoffs.
