Maryland Live rolls out table games

Table games are now in operation at the Maryland Live casino in suburban Baltimore. The 122-table area is are in addition to more than 4,300 slot machines.

This comes after Hollywood Casino Perryville, added table games in early March.

About 50 traditional poker tables will also be added to the casino floor when new construction on a two-level Poker Room is complete this summer 2013, pending regulatory approval. The casino is a project of the Cordish Companies,  Baltimore, which is also bidding for other gaming licenses in Philadelphia and Massachusetts.

The table games take away the one remaining advantage enjoyed by Delaware casinos, which traditionally drew visitors from the Baltimore-Washington area.

Casinos in Delaware  have seen declining revenue as Maryland operations came on line and moved aggressively to add table games. The expansion is also expected to
