Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is teaming up with a British company on two brews.

The Milton company and Charles Wells will collaborate on DNA New World IPA, an India pale ale and DNA UK. New World will be brewed in England.

DNA New World became available in England on cask on April 1 and will be bottled and put in kegs later this year.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Dogfish Head will brew a cask IPA using a yeast strain from Charles Wells. DNA UK will debut at Philadelphia Beer Week in June. A team from both breweries will be on hand to celebrate the release, according to the Dogfish Blog. DNA will be sold overseas.

“We have a mutual respect for Charles Wells,” says Dogfish President Sam Calagione. “It’s been great to work on this project together. We have a flair for originality and doing things a bit differently, and it’s been terrific to explore a new addition to our craft beer range through such an exciting brewing initiative.”

Andrew Auwerda, Maryland resident, University of Maryland alumnus, and proprietor of Philadelphia Distilling, announced the release of his company’s newest offering, The Bay Seasoned Vodka. Auwerda resides in Warwick, Md, near Middletown, Del. The Bay features a proprietary blend of traditional spices and sea salt. Iit is a four-times distilled vodka highlighted by a blend of classic seafood seasonings familiar to lovers of the U.S. Eastern Seaboard for nearly 80 years, according to a release. The words Old Bay come to mind.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re from the region or a visitor,” said Auwerda. “If you spend time on the Chesapeake Bay, these flavors become part of your life. That’s what happened to me when I went to college in Maryland. It’s about time spent with friends on the water – cocktails, mounds of fresh blue crabs – it’s the good life made easy.”

The Bay Seasoned Vodka retails for $26, for a one liter bottle and is now being distributed on the East Coast. Philadelphia Distilling was founded in March of 2005 as the first craft distillery to open in Pennsylvania since Prohibition.

Founders are Auwerda, Timothy Yarnall and Master Distiller Robert Cassel. Beginning with Bluecoat, American Dry Gin in 2006, Philadelphia Distilling added Penn 1681 Rye Vodka in 2008, Vieux Carre Absinthe Superieure in 2009, the Shine whiskey range in 2011.
