(Video) Man steals cash from register at Newark Exxon

    Newark Police are  investigating a robbery  on Sept.  10th, 2012 at  10:15 p.m. at the Exxon  at 820 South College Avenue (Route 896). Officers said a man entered the store, presented cash and  asked  cigarettes from the male clerk.

    When the clerk retrieved the cigarettes and opened the register, the suspect reached over the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of  cash from the register. The suspect then fled the store and entered into the front passenger seat of a waiting vehicle. The vehicle was last seen fleeing southbound on South College Avenue. The clerk was not injured.

    The suspect is described as a 25-30 year old white male approximately  6 feet., 2 inches  tall with a thin build and dark  hair. The suspect was wearing a flat brimmed red or orange baseball cap, black t-shirt, grey or green athletic pants and dark colored shoes.

    The vehicle is described as a dark colored large four door sedan operated by an unknown subject.
