Chesapeake Utilities Corp., Dover, reported record earnings in the second quarter.
The company’s net income for the quarter ended June 30 was $5.1 million This represents an increase of $1.5 million, compared to the same quarter in 2011, and quarter-over-quarter increases of 44 percent and 43 percent for net income and earnings per share, respectively.
On a year-to-date basis, the company reported net income of $15.8 million, for the six months ended June 30th. This represents a decrease of $1.5 million in net income, compared to the same period in 2011.
Warmer temperatures during the first half of 2012 resulted in lower net income, officials said.
