The administration of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett has invested $15 million dollars to keep parts of the Sunoco refinery operating.
The refinery shut its doors earlier this year.
Braskem had earlier announced it would keep the plant open. Work is also under way on finding other uses for the massive complex. A small portion of the sprawling site is in Delaware.
