Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Newark-area restaurant early Monday morning.
Troopers reported that at 5:17 a.m., two men went to the rear of the Old Country Buffet in the 1300 block of New Churchman’s Road in Newark.
The suspects, both had handguns, confronted a delivery driver, 53 and demanded cash. The suspects were unable to get any funds. Next, they entered the restaurant and confronted two male employees and demanded cash. The victims complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects then fled from the restaurant. No one was injured.
Suspects were described as follows:
– Black male, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 180-200 pounds, last seen wearing a green and black camouflage jacket, jeans, black sneakers and wearing a mask covering his face.
– Male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 160 to 180 pounds, last seen wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, gray sweatpants, black shoes, and a mask covering his face.
