[Not a valid template]Bond nominated  to serve as  New Castle County Police Chief

New Castle County Executive Matthew Meyer today nominated Lieutenant Colonel Vaughn M. Bond, Jr., a 25-year veteran of the New Castle County Police, to lead the organization permanently. Bond has served as Acting Chief since January.  Bond’s nomination as Chief will be considered by New Castle County Council in the coming weeks.

Bond served as Deputy Chief of Police, and second in command of the New Castle County Division of Police, from July, 2016 until being named Acting Chief in January.  He joined the New Castle County Police in 1991, earning promotions through the ranks and serving in supervisory and management roles for more than 13 years.  He has managed the Uniform Patrol Section and the Criminal Investigative Unit and recently served in the rank of Major as Commander of the agency’s Operations Branch.

A graduate of Delaware State University, Bond has completed more than 2,000 hours of specialized training, including from the West Point Command and Leadership Academy and the Senior Management Institute for Police Executives.  He is a highly decorated officer, receiving a Distinguished Unit Citation and several letters of commendation, and was named as 1997 Crime Stoppers Detective of the Year, 1999 runner up for the Crime Stoppers Detective of the Year and the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Award

Early Learning director named

Gov.  John Carney announced that Kimberly Krzanowski, a long-time leader and advocate for early learning in the state, as the new executive director of the Delaware Department of Education’s Office of Early Learning.

Krzanowski has more than 16 years of experience in early learning as a former early childhood teacher, center administrator and higher education faculty member, most recently as instructional director/ Education Department chair at Delaware Technical Community College.

Krzanowski will join the Office of Early Learning on April 3.

As executive director of the Office of Early Learning, Krzanowski also will maintain support for Delaware Stars, the state’s quality rating system for early childhood centers, and help Delaware provide children and families with the early intervention and coaching they need to ensure the children are ready for school

Krzanowski also has served on numerous advisory boards and statewide committees to implement policy changes that are needed to ensure all children have a strong foundation from the beginning. These committees include T.E.A.C.H® Early Childhood Delaware, Delaware Association for the Education of Young Children Professional Development, New Castle County Vocational School District Early Childhood Career Program and the Delaware Early Childhood Professional Development Strategic Planning Committee.

As instructional director for Education Programs at Delaware Technical Community College, Krzanowski has collaborated with community stakeholders to develop partnerships amongst numerous school districts and early learning organizations. Additionally, she has provided executive leadership to faculty, students and a nationally accredited child development lab school.  

 and is currently working toward her Doctorate degree in educational leadership with a concentration on the early childhood workforce at Wilmington University.

Bayhealth executive named to Becker’s list

Bayhealth announced Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Mike Tretina, CPA, MBA, FHFMA, FACHE, has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2016 list “150 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know.” 

Emory Hill announces staff additions

Emory Hill has announced the following staff additions:

Kelly Wolffe joined the accounting team and has over 15 years of experience as a bookkeeper working for several firms in Maryland and Delaware including Seiberlich Trane Energy Services and the Reybold Group. Her expertise includes preparing financial statements and reports, banking, accounting and payroll. She has an
Associate Degree from Cecil College in North East, MD.

April Pechickjian came on board as a new member of the accounting team. She more than 15 years of experience as an
accountant and controller in the real estate, construction and property management fields. Her former employers include GB Shades, LLC in Claymont, William Humpreys & Co. Tax Consulting Firm in Wilmington, and several firms in California. She is a graduate of Los Angeles Community College.

Susan Ehst recently joined the Emory Hill brokerage team as an administrative assistant. Ehst has over 21 years of experience in commercial property  management, sales, marketing, development and real estate accounting. Prior to joining Emory Hill, she worked for several firms including Asset Management Alliance and Louis Capano & Sons in Wilmington, and McGinnis Commercial Real Estate in Dover.

Mark Russell has joined the Emory maintenance team. His
previous employment experience includes working in carpentry, and in the
design, fabrication and installation of high end cabinetry and countertops which also entailed framework, wall and door construction and some electrical and lighting work. His previous employers included 3D Fabrication, EX Tread, and Enertech, all in Delaware.

Gene Mazzatenta of Middletown has joined Emory and Company as a Superintendent. His prior experience includes working as a residential and commercial project manager for several firms including Blenheim Homes in Newark, DE, K. Hovnanian Homes in Red Banks, NJ and Mazzatenta Construction Company.

Patterson-Schwartz adds to sales team

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate welcomed Regina Kadow to their Newark office sales team. She is a former special education paraeducator for the Delaware Autism Program and former owner and operator of Little Lambs Daycare. She is licensed in Delaware and is a member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors. 

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate welcomed Leslie Madeira to their Middletown office as a sales associate licensed in Delaware. She earned her Associate of Applied Science degree from Onongaga Community College in Syracuse, New York, and her Bachelor’s degree from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. She is a member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors.

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate welcomed Jennifer Jeffferson to their Newark office sales team. She worked as a supervisor of operations and managed care solutions in the healthcare industry before earning her Delaware real estate license. She is a member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors.
