Jamaican restaurant to open today in Bear

A Bear restaurant specializing in Jamaican food is scheduled to open today.

Jamaican Café Cuisine is opening at the Salem Village Shopping Center off Route 40 and Salem Church Road in Bear.

The restaurant will offer specialties from the island including jerk chicken, Ackee and salt fish, oxtail,   and curried chicken and goat.

 Catering is also offered at the restaurant, which will have sit-down and carryout service. 

Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

According to the website, the owner is Nyron Cameron, who grew up in Jamaica and immigrated to the United States.

 Cameron serves in the Delaware National Guard and was deployed in Afghanistan.
