John McClellan and Henry Hanna, both senior sdvisors with Sperry Van Ness – Miller Commercial Real Estate, have been selected by Harim Millsboro, LLC to lease more than 400,000 square feet of their Millsboro facility.
Sperry Van Ness Miller has offices in Delaware.
The facility features ceilings up to 27’ feet clear, ample loading docks, refrigerated and dry storage, as well as three rail loading doors located on a private rail spur. The facility is located near Route 113 offering regional access to Delaware, Baltimore/Washington, Philadelphia, and Tidewater Virginia.
“This is great economic development news for Sussex County,” stated McClellan. “The configuration offers many possibilities for warehousing, distribution, assembly, light manufacturing and others, and it’s located in business-friendly Delaware.”
Headquartered in Seaford, Allen Harim operates chicken processing facilities in Delaware and Maryland; breeding operations in North Carolina, and hatcheries in Delaware and Maryland.
The former Vlasic pickle plant was purchased by Allen Harim, but ran into opposition from neighbors and environmental activists who worried about water pollution issues, truck traffic and a possible poultry processing plant at the site.
Allen Harim will use a portion of the site for warehousing.
