JEB Solar_Overhead ShotJ.E. Berkowitz, LP,  announced   is expanding its 200,000-square-foot headquarters in Pedricktown  in Salem County, N.J.

Construction of a 53,000-square-foot addition is scheduled to begin in June with completion before the end of the year at the site about 15 miles east of New Castle.

Founded in 1920, JEB began operations as a glass silvering company that produced mirrors for furniture and department stores in the Philadelphia area. Under the leadership of three generations, the family-owned company grew into a  major architectural glass fabricator and distributor for domestic and international markets. To accommodate growth and to better serve customers, JEB built the Pedricktown facility in 2007. It employs more than 200.

Arthur Berkowitz, president of JEB, said, “We’ve continued to expand our capabilities, making the new addition necessary. When the project is complete, we’ll have a fourth jumbo insulating glass line that is equipped with an online argon gas-filling press, online edge deletion, and a robotic applicator for our recently announced JEB 3SEAL spacer system. Plans also are being made to consolidate all warehousing for finished goods at our facility for better operational efficiency.”

With more than 94 years of experience in providing glazing solution for high-profile projects across the world, JEB’s capabilities include fabricating dual- and triple-pane insulating glass units; heat-strengthened, tempered, heat-soaked tested, and laminated glass; silk-screened and spandrel glass; and glass doors, point-supported walls, canopies, handrails, and commercial shower doors.
