Tech Forum to offer a peek inside UD’s Horn Entrepreneur program

UdFollowing a successful Idea Challenge last month, The Technology Forum of Delaware is offering a look into the University of Delaware’s Venture Development Center on March 19.

 The center is part of the the Horn Program in Entrepreneurship. The center recently moved into newly constructed space is at 132 E. Delaware Ave. in Newark.

 According to UD, the program and the center aim to serve as a learning laboratory and business hatchery for students interested in starting and growing businesses; drive innovation for established companies; and develop market-based solutions to social problems.

 Fees are $25 for Tech Forum of Delaware and $40 for future members. The cost for students is $15. Click here to register. Walk-ins are welcome, but will pay an additional $5 charge. Click here to register.

 The Idea Challenge highlighted technology principles, including the use of big data, in ways that would bring business to the city.

The winning entry envisioned the city becoming a center for telecommuting, with services being added for off-site workers.
