Middletown Chamber annual meeting coming on Jan. 24

middletownThe Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce  will celebrate  the organization’s community heroes at  its 42nd Annual Dinner next month. Founded in 1972 by local resident Will Kirkwood, the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce will  hold the  event  at the Odessa Fire Company Memorial Hall  on Jan.  24, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

The event features dinner, open bar, and dancing to  local band, Club Phred.  The annual dinner will not only celebrate the Chamber’s milestones for the community, but also honor local businesses with the long-standing Business of the Year Awards.  In addition, an outstanding citizen of the community will also be recognized through the Citizen of the Year Award named after current Chairman, Bill O’Neal and Ambassador of the Year, named after long term President, Jeff Buckworth.

The evening will also recognize an outstanding board member of the year with the Will Kirkwood President’s Award. Tickets are $75 for MACC members, and $85 for non-members. Nominations are currently being accepted for Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year.  Nominations are due by December 31,  and  should be sent to the attention of Roxane Ferguson, MACC executive director, P.O. Box 1, Middletown, DE 19709 or via e-mail to rferguson@maccde.com. The winners will be recognized for their accomplishments at the Annual Dinner on January 24, 2014 at The Odessa Firehall.
