DuPont reports improved solar cell efficiency with new pastes

DuPont Microcircuit Materials MCM has introduced its next-generation frontside metallization pastes for crystalline silicon solar cells.

DuPont  Solamet  PV18x series photovoltaic metallization pastes offer photovoltaic manufacturers improved productivity beyond that provided by  its current line that is already the industry benchmark, according to a release from the company.

The advancements are increasing the efficiency of solar cells and making the technology more competitive with other forms of power.

The efficiency of solar cells has nearly doubled over the last dozen years due to advances in DuPont  Solamet  photovoltaic metallization technology, according to the company.

Prices of solar panels have also dropped.
