What a shame city and state officials have to get in the way of and excellent opportunity. They are impeding a good sought after local institution take care of a park that the city/county can’t afford to take care of with private money. As a tax paying citizen of the city it upsets me this project is getting stuck in red tape and local officials can’t look at something and see all the positive attributes of it. Who is going to pay for the task force? How much will that cost ? How long will it take?

Why not concentrate the cities time and money on other city issues and have one more task taken off their back and not added to it.

just food for thought. Representative Chukwuocha I would love for you to educate me on why this needs to be studied. Let’s look at the positive and negative attributes please give me a few negative attributes to this deal that called for you to kill it.

Since my husband works down Cherry Lane, he will be sure to use and enjoy the new Market opening. For myself, I’m still lost and looking for a reasonable, comfortable, convenient alternative to the Pathmark at Hare’s Corner I enjoyed shopping at for decades. I now shop at several different places to help make up the difference. Any word on if/when there will be another super market to replace it?

Too bad this ship couldn’t be built in one of Delaware’s famous ship building towns, Milford or Milton; it would have bee a boon to our area economy! Just kidding; but if we must spend nearly 2 BILLION dollars on a weapon of war, and as a Navy vet myself I’m glad Delaware gets to put its name on it. Now if our congressional trio could get some serious money to attack heroin addiction in our State I would be equally proud.

What is not needed is more GMO seeds. Nature has sustained food and seeds for thousands of years. With the introduction of chemicals and processing, we have an increase in diseases, like cancer, food allergies etc… This is NOT a good way to solve China’s seed problems. Origin Agritech is destroying the food chain. I personally will not buy any food product from China, because of chemicals.

DelDOT is maxed out at present. Long-term, the funding crunch will return and simply talking about taking $40 million to $50 million a year out of the operating budget is simply the equivalent of an unfunded mandate. The result will be more toll increases and short-term measures that don’t get to unmet needs that are not part of DeDOT’s plans at present.

DelDOT is maxed out. Secretary Cohan has mentioned this. They also spend 60% of their budget on debt service. Only about 17% of their budget goes to roadways. Why should be reward that? About 80% of that $.10 increase will be eaten up by bloat. No thank you. Doug Rainey needs to look at the facts and educate himself.
