Harvey Hanna promotions

Harvey Hanna & Associates (HHA), a commercial real estate redevelopment firm, announced the promotions of two leadership team members. 

Will Harvey has been  promoted to the position of Executive Vice President, Operations. In his expanded role, Harvey will be in responsible charge of HHA’s property management, field services, and construction management groups. Harvey has played a pivotal role in HHA’s project management for many successful industrial redevelopment initiatives throughout the HHA portfolio 

Michael T. Nash has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Construction Management. Since 2021, Nash  led the construction management for Hyatt Place Dewey Beach (Dewey Beach, DE), Hyatt House Lewes / Rehoboth Beach (Lewes, DE), Hyatt Place Kent Narrows & Marina (Grasonville, MD), COAST Rehoboth Beach (Rehoboth Beach, DE) and the most recent HHA industrial project at 50 Harbor View Drive at Delaware River Industrial Park (New Castle, DE). 


Baird Mandalas names COO

The Baird Mandalas Brockstedt & Federico, LLC law firm announced the promotion of Scott D. Koenig to Chief Operating Officer. He was Firm Administrator. 

He has served as the City Manager for   Dover and Dewey Beach Town Manager for the Town of Dewey Beach as well as other key positions, 

Baird Mandalas Brockstedt & Federico operates in all three Delaware counties and in Maryland.


KSI names finance chief

KSI announced that Mark Dufendach has been hired as Senior Executive Vice President of Finance.

.Dufendach has provided financial oversight to several school districts including Milford, Polytech, Smyrna and Indian River School Districts. He also worked for the Department of Education and ended his career in education most recently as Superintendent of Polytech School District. 

Pedi joins Potter Anderson


Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP (Potter Anderson) is pleased to announce that Nicole K. Pedi has joined the firm as counsel with the General Litigation Practice Group.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nicole to Potter Anderson,” said Jeremy W. Ryan, a partner and leader of Potter Anderson’s General Litigation Practice Group. “Nicole brings valuable experience and skills as an up-and-coming litigator.”

Potter Anderson has added  25 lateral and first-year associates  since the beginning of 2023.

Pedi focuses her practice on commercial and intellectual property litigation. Her experience includes matters involving breach of contract, fraud, noncompetes, and trade secret claims..

Goth joins TidalHealth OB/GYN practice

TidalHealth welcomed Katherine Goth, MD, as a Family Medicine Obstetrician at TidalHealth OB/GYN in Seaford.

 She also serves as TidalHealth’s Family Medicine Residency Program Director.

Goth comes with several years of experience in leadership roles in family medicine residency and medical student education. She served as Core Faculty Associate and Director of Family Medicine Obstetrics at The Reading Hospital in West Reading, Pa., as well as Assistant Professor at Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa.   

Braxton appointed to board


Howard Braxton, senior vice pesident of marketing, Communications and Sales at The Kendal Corporation, has been appointed to the board of Friends Services Alliance (FSA). 

FSA is a professional association for values-aligned organizations that serve older adults. The organization supports employees and governing boards in governance, compliance and risk management, and diversity and equity efforts.


Forsyth joins TidealHealth Sleep Medicine center

TidalHealth welcomed Sean Forsyth to TidalHealth Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in Seaford. Forsyth’s clinical interests include preventative care, patient-centered care, and geriatric treatment. He is a member of the American Nurses Association and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Downing named  to institute


The AGB Institute for Leadership & Governance in Higher Education named Dr. Stacy Downing, chief administrator of Delaware State University  Downtown,  as a  participant for the class of 2024-2025. 

With the AGB Institute now entering its sixth year, 21 participants from institutions around the country will gather for an in-person symposium in Washington, D.C., in September to kick off the program.

Dr. Downing has been a DSU administrator since 2013. 

 Deputy warden named


The Delaware Department of Correction announced that James T. Vaughn Correctional Center (JTVCC) Security Superintendent Major Jason Schaffer has been promoted to Deputy Warden of JTVCC.  

Schaffer’s promotion fills the vacancy created when then-Deputy Warden Philip Parker was promoted in March to Warden of Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington

Schaffer joined the DOC and completed his Correctional Officer training in 2008 after seven years of service in the United States Air Force. .

Paul Kares names development dierctor


Paul Kares recently announced that Fran Simeone is the new director of development. 

Simeone was previously an advisor for the Delaware-based nonprofit founded by musician/chef Paul Cullen and Jim Rivette to help young culinary and performing artists achieve their goals. 

In his new position, Simeone will handle all donor outreach efforts, including sponsorships for The Room at Cedar Grove — an event venue that benefits Paul Kares, and special community projects, such as the Concert for the Kids event and the annual Paul Kares Golf Tournament.
