President Joe Biden spent a shortened Labor Day weekend at his home near Rehoboth Beach.

Airspace restrictions had been in place from Firday to Monday in the Rehoboth-Ocean City area.

Schedules were adjusted when the President and First Lady Jill Biden flew from Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland to Florida on Saturday to view damage from Hurricane Idalia and affirm a commitment to assist the area devastated by the storm.

The Bidens then flew back to their beach house near Rehoboth on Saturday night and attended mass on Sunday.

On Monday, the President flew out of Dover Air Force Base to Philadelphia for a Labor Day event and then returned to the White House.

Biden’s visits add a modest boost to the Rehoboth economy. The president and First Lady make few public appearances but are often seen riding bikes, with the president on a recent Delaware vacation trip also getting some beach time.
