Delaware’s Jamestown Hospitality Group has added Giordano’s in Kennett Square, PA to its portfolio of dining and event venues.
“When the Giordano family approached us with an opportunity to purchase their beloved restaurant, we knew we had been entrusted with something truly special, and we take our responsibility to the family, food and fanbase seriously,” said Paul Bouchard, managing partner of JHG. “We share their passion for quality and consistency, and we are committed to upholding their legacy on every plate that we serve.”
Jamestown will offer new menu options alongside many of the restaurant’s dishes. Changes include renovations to the restaurant and, extended hours for the sports bar on Fridays and Saturdays until midnight, and live performances by various local artists.
Jamestown’s holdings include Tonic Seafood & Steak, Park Café, and Jamestown Catering in Delaware.
Jamestown now has three venues in Wilmington, two in Kennett Square, PA and one in Georgetown, MD.
Cousin’s food truck makes the rounds
The Delaware-area Cousin’s Maine Lobster food truck is finding alternate locations after Christiana Mall banned food trucks. Cousin’s had been stopping by on Sundays, offering lobster rolls and lobster and grilled cheese sandwiches. (An earlier post incorrectly reported lobster mac and cheese).
That’s not a surprise. After all, the mall struggled to find restaurant tenants after three dining spots closed during the Covid pandemic.
Stops for Cousin’s include Midnight Oil Brewing in Glasgow, along with the Exton and Dover malls.
Skipjack’s winning lobster roll
Speaking of lobster rolls, one place to check out is Skipjack, located in the Louviers area of Newark near the Bank of America complex and the Gore headquarters.
Skipjack’s lobster roll is bit of a departure from many offerings. it’s served with ruffle dill aioli on a garlic roll and has smaller chunks of lobster. The combination works.
Skipjack has a reasonably priced menu and options for those who want a lighter lunch and dinner. Brunch is also served.
Skipjack is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month, a major achievement for a restaurant not on a heavily trafficked location.
